Ingredients
1 frozen puff pastry
3 oz. Heinen's fresh goat cheese
¼ cup Heinen's fig spread
¼ cup Heinen's pecans, finely chopped
1 tsp. fresh rosemary, finely chopped
A dash of Heinen's crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 Heinen's cage free egg, beaten
Heinen's honey, for serving (optional)
Directions
- Thaw the puff pastry according to the package instructions. Be careful not to defrost too much as soft puff pastry can be too sticky to handle!
- Place the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Spread the goat cheese evenly, leaving a 1-inch border from the top of the dough. Spread the fig spread over the goat cheese and evenly sprinkle pecans, rosemary, and red chili flakes (optional).
- Gently roll the puff pastry into a log. Brush the beaten egg on the 1-inch border on top to seal the log.
- Freeze the log for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 400°F and line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the log into ½-inch slices and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing each pinwheel 1–2 inches apart. Brush the top and sides of the pinwheels with the beaten egg. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Serve warm with honey (optional).
